Iowa Born Nick Nurse voted "Most Canadian Looking Person Alive"
The move is a surprising one given Nurse is not in fact, a Canadian.
The Poutine Week study found Nurse beating out perennial Canadian icons Barry Melrose and Nickelback front man Chad Kroger to win the coveted title.
The study assessed candidates based on a range of attributes often associated with the Canadian aesthetic including "politeness," "earnestness," and "likelihood to attend a Jordan Peterson lecture."
"The particular facial structure — a blend of diligent accountant meets Drew Carey — is an iconic Canadian look," noted McGill University facial aesthetics expert Gord Pierre. "When paired with a Roots hoodie and a Tim Horton's Maple Mocha it's enough to make Shania Twain swoon."
Nurse himself seemed thrilled at the comparison. Saying that even in his Iowa childhood his gaze (and heart) looked North. “All the other kids wanted to watch Hawkeye football. But I was obsessed with the CFL. There’s just nothing like an Alouettes-Argonauts battle royale.”
