Jacob Elordi Frontrunner to Play Brisbane's Poo Jogger in Gritty A24 Biopic

LOS ANGELES — Fresh off his acclaimed turn as the Creature in Frankenstein, Australian heartthrob Jacob Elordi has reportedly emerged as the studio favorite to portray Andrew Douglas Macintosh, the 64-year-old corporate executive who terrorized a Brisbane footpath for over a year before being photographed mid-squat by vigilante neighbors.

The untitled biopic, backed by A24 and tentatively titled Quality Manager, will chronicle Macintosh's double life as Aveo's national quality manager by day and the city's most dedicated al fresco defecator by dawn.

"Jacob's been very intentional about his choices post-Euphoria," said his publicist, who asked not to be named. "He's looking for roles that challenge him. Roles that strip away the Hollywood gloss and get to something raw, something human."

When asked if defecating on a residential footpath 30 times qualified as "human," the publicist clarified: "Profoundly human."

Elordi, 27, has reportedly been method-preparing for the role by studying the movements of long-distance runners and consulting with gastroenterologists about high-fiber diets. Sources close to the production say he's also been jogging at 5 a.m. through the streets of Greenslopes "to understand the solitude Andrew must have felt."

The script, penned by Tar screenwriter Todd Field, is said to explore Macintosh's inner turmoil as a man caught between societal expectation and biological rebellion. Early Oscar buzz suggests Elordi could earn another nomination, particularly for a climactic monologue in which Macintosh, cornered by Simon Smith's night-vision camera, explains that "some men climb Everest, some men leave their mark differently."

"This is the kind of transformative work that gets you taken seriously," noted industry analyst Ernst Quinnipiac. "After Saltburn, Jacob showed he's not afraid to go dark. After this, he'll show he's not afraid to go anywhere."

When reached for comment, the real Andrew Douglas Macintosh, who paid a $378 fine and resigned from Aveo in 2018, said only: "I'd prefer Christian Bale."

A24 has scheduled the film for a limited release in late 2026, with a planned premiere at Sundance. Elordi's team is reportedly negotiating for him to attend in running shorts.

More to come.
